Cars from your youth

I was talking to my friend from high school and she asked me if I ever desired a car from my youth (mid 1970's to early 1990's). I thought about it for a couple of seconds and said no. There wasn't a IROC-Z, Mustang GT, Ferrari, Fiero, Honda CRX or 4x4 that really did anything for me from that time period. Most were under powered and slow. I told her I'd rather have a car from today. Do you desire to have a car from your youth?

I'd have a hard time choosing between any of these three:

Scott the 308's are actually pretty cheap at the moment ( buy one!! ) The F40 and the Countach, not so much

There's a 308 at a broker here that keeps calling out to me. So hard to ignore it's cries for my garage.

Lately I've been thinking that I'd love another CRX. The one I had was an '85. It was rebuilt from the ground up when I bought it, it looked brand new inside and out. The one pictured isn't mine, but the same year. (I had mine painted all red... no gray on mine) I didn't do much more than air intake & exhaust, but I had some nice wide rubber on it that made it take corners like a go kart. It was a ton of fun to drive!
I wouldn't mind the last model-year CRX either... '88 to '91 I think. (not including the Del Sol, which was still called the CRX over seas)

A little CRX trivia: Civic Renaissance Model X

the 308 isn't a 308....it's a 288 GTO, one of my all time favorites. Not too many made, 400 hp twin turbo V8.

honestly, I loved the irocs, er, technically the z28's and formula 350's.(all the motor, without the heavy options) Picked up a 5.7L IROC a while back and honestly, it's really really fun to drive, even though it's not that fast.

it's more or less a slot car without a whole lot of rear traction.

I've been into cars my whole life, so I used or worked on most of the ones I liked when I was of age......except for the exotics of course.

so of those I could NEVER afford, the GTO above, as well as vector W2 were the ultimate.

If you just mean cars from my era, I would love to have a Delorean just because it's so representative of the 80s.
If you meant a car that I drove in my youth, I don't think I'd like my 1976 Caprice Classic back... not at 8mpg... 400 with 4 barrels always open.

I still have the car from my youth, my 1970 Charger. I'd like it to be fully restored, mind you. :)

You beat me to it! Yeah, that's a very cool car but they were all greymarket so some were converted better than others I'm told.

Oh no, you didn't go there did you! I also thought these were amazing, but did any actually run? I thought the company folded eventually under the weight of debt, wild performance claims, and unfinished designs (and orders).

Saw one of these in highschool and had no idea what the hell it was, but even with the whitewall looking wheels I knew there was something special about it.

Then a few years ago I had the privilege to own a '94 euro spec model silver over black with the 3.8 liter motor (US cars got the 3.6). It was a screamer.

Favourite car from my youth was the Peugeot 205GTI, i had 4 of them over the years. Wish i still had one..

The cars i always wanted were a Reliant Scimitar GTE and a Metro 6R4. Most of the Scimitars are probably rusting in junk yards by now and the 6R4's are mega money.

The 6R4 was scary fast, 250bhp standard version up to 750bph fire breathing twin turbo rally versions. The group B rally cars were awesome before they were outlawed :?
