Here is my attempt to restore a gold pan rebuild. I took these photos with the Iphone. My plans are to run the B4 Wheel setup. I have a bunch of parts on the way: B44 CVA's, and Inline front axle setup. I want the gold shock bodies and will pick up some new shock caps / bladders. Any thoughts and opinions are welcome.

Why do you want new shock caps? use those gold shock caps too, they are nice.
So far it looks good! Are those white Houge Ent. steering bellcranks?
Are you going brushed or brushless?

I was given this car when i was 10, and after 13 years I am restoring it. The shock caps were drilled (bleeder hole), not sure why. Any solution to keep them? And yes those are Houge Ent. steering bellcranks. Funny story, I was at Ihobby a long time ago and my dad won a huge lot of arms and bellcranks in various colors.

Not sure what motor setup yet. Most likley run brushed till I find a deal on brushless. It will have a Savox low profile in it.

There is a former designer here from CC/Houge that has some of those still in white, that is why I asked about the location

Cool!
yea, if those caps have been drilled you are best off getting new ones. It's hard enough for me to keep my bottom loaders from leaking, lol. You may be able to plug them up but what's the point once they've been drilled.
You can still find nice brushed esc's and motors on ebay FWIW. I'm looking at picking one of these up:

I think the only shock caps that will fit on the old style gold shock bodies are the gold ones. If I'm not mistaken the threads are different on the shock bodies and caps for the ones that the o-rings and such load from the inside not the outside like the original gold shocks.
I could be wrong about this, if someone else knows different let us know.

I run the new bleeder style plastic caps on my CE with gold shock bodies. No issues.

Me too, no issues using the black plastic bleeder caps on bottom load gold shocks.

I am having a hard time finding my outer rear hinge pins for the RC10 project. I am running RPM rear arms, not sure if that make a difference. Does anyone know the right Part number for the hinge pin? An maybe even the length? Thanks!
