I have a slash 4x4, but unfortunately my local track only allows 2wd SCT due to the track owner worry about the such big 4wd destroying the track. So my question is, by removing the center shaft and front drive shafts, how will it handle during jumps? Has anyone tried it ?

Actually works pretty good. I actually think it worked better than my 2wd slash. When I was running mine with a mamba monster it was eating the front axles regularly. I never bothered to remove the center driveshaft, ran it that way for a whole summer.

our track owner was like that about 1/8th scale for a while. but relented as more people showed up with them and he finally let them run or they would have taken all the racing elsewhere.

while a 4x4sc will probably be harder on a track than a 2w it should not be much of a difference. esp it he treats the track with mag chloride or a similar product.

as to how it would run like that my take is it would make it a little more likely slide around on power but other than that it should not be a big problem. also it would run faster as the more parts you take out the less it would weigh esp in the rotating mass!!

i decided to remove the center shaft to reduce the drag on the drivetrain so the motor would have lesser stress , also by removing the shaft , i covered the front shaft hole with duct tape to prevent dirt from getting in . thanks for sharing your experience :)
