Wanting to save foam tires RC500

Post by Romulus-10 »

I have some new foam tires for a RC500 and they have some small cracks from age. Does anyone have any ideas on what to use to recondition them? I have oil of wintergreen for my rubber tires, but I want something that might soak into the tire, maybe conditioning to help the cracks close up, so they look better on the shelf. This is for a non-runner. Thanks for any help in advance.

WD40, Kerosene and Diesel if you can deal with the smell- they all help to replace the oils that are drying out of the original tires, and they swell the foam a bit as well. If you don't like that smell, then try Zip Free traction compound by Trinity-

You can bag them as long as you don't care about the durometer of the foam changing-
