full-on andy's build

this is another one of my builds that kinda sits on the back burner until all the right parts come along. i was able to get the rest of the andy's parts i need to put it together. i believe i have all of the andy's parts that they made for the rc10. if i don't, would someone please let me know? :) here's the list of what i have:

chassis
one piece front bulkhead
front wide arms
castor blocks
steering knuckles
bellcrank/slider steering rack
battery box
rear trailing arms
rear shock tower
rear bulkhead

i don't think they made a front shock tower for the wide kick-up, but i could be wrong. i know i've never seen one. right now, it has a c.c. front tower on it. which matches the chassis very well. i also put a nip litesink on it, which i'm not quite sure i like. i think it might look better with a stock black ae motor plate. here it is so far...............

Very nice Scr8p, I think you might be right about the heat sink for some reason it looks a little bulky. I don't have a trailing arm car in my collection, looking at this one I think I'm missing out 8)

Hellooo handsome!

Never seen that steering setup before. Very cool.

Which wheels you're thinking off?
Yellow dishes and 2.2 size would be real nice, but it looks like you'd rather stick with something a little more authentic. I won't ask which body , you got, just; which one would you want for it?

thanks guys. i'm pretty sure that litesinks gonna come off. it just isn't working for me on this car. i think a stocker will look much better. i was also thinking of a gold motor plate and using gold shocks. but, i only have one more of those nip, and i'm saving it for another car. so, this will probably get the coated shocks.

for the wheels and tires, i was thinking of using a set of the white proline delrin wheels with some schumacher pin spikes.

i have 2 of these cars, but the other one is a composite craft chassis with the narrow kick-up for the pro race front end. i'm hoping to get an andy's mohawk for one, and a heathen for the other.

hoopty, the rpm car might be done pretty soon. stay tuned..........................

maybe once there's some wheels and tire on the back, it won't seem so bulky. right now, it just looks out of place to me.

i have a suggestion on a motor plate. i know its for oval but i have 2 of these and 2 copies of these i made myself. they are the ligest i have ever seen or owned,polished and just plain look awesome.with all that black it would definatly stand out and fit with the unique theme that ride has. here is the link;

Yeah, I think the heatsink looks a bit out of place. Who knows, it may look fine with a body. I wish you could still get the GPM motor plate. That would look nice on this setup.

for this car, i'm trying to stay somewhat "period correct", so those would be to new. the newest parts that will most likely go on it are the coated shocks, and a stock black motor plate.

i have some andy's rear hub carriers i found, used but in good shape, obviously this car doesnt need them since it has trailing arms.

just an update.

i was able to answer my own question about if andy's made a front shock tower for the standard kick-up. yup, they did, and i found one. :D i'll be able to use 1.02 shocks on the front now since it's taller. i also found out that when using the trailing arms, you need to use the tall rear tower. so , i put one of those on, and added a pair of yokomo wing mounts.

i was going to put the associated coated shocks on this, but those plans have changed. my hunt for 1.02 and 1.32 mip shock bodies is over. so, those will be going on it now. :D

nice build. are the shock bodies from rcslot?
are they bottom load with those snap rings like the original AE shocks?

i found these at my lhs. i found .71's there last year, but these were in a different box. and yes, they're bottom loaders with the snap rings. i have 3 cars that were waiting for these shock bodies, so it was a great find.

it's getting better and better, can't wait to see it finished. Oh, and would you happen to have an extra pair of 0.71 stroke MIP bodies?
