Today I bought my first modern buggy in over 20 years. RTR 2.4 SC10 Brushless.

I did not get any pictures of it before I hit the track.
Driving a SC truck is much different than my RC-10. I look forward to dialing it in and doing a couple races. I need to get my driving skill better before the big race in September

It was a requirement to run the LiPo battery.

The first thing I did was put foam grommets under the body. The lexan slap of SC trucks kills me!!

Other than that they are a blast!

just curous...how come you choose the rockstar...instead of the lucus/pro comp,etc...?
how powerful is that 3300kv brushless?
is that equal to a 13t brushed ?

Trust me, get some different tires. I think stock SC10 tires were made by the devil himself just to piss us all off! Unless you run on carpet or the street, then they're fine.

Definitely change out the rears, the fronts work well on well-groomed tracks.

x2 made the whole truck sound like a POS and drove me crazy.
The rear tires on mine only lasted 4 battery packs before they were wore out.
Add an rear sway bar from a t4 and it will make a big difference and help out a great deal in braking and off corner stability. I also added the RPM front bumper before I ran it.
The only issue I have had is the servo went out after about 20 packs.
I love tthe SC10 , it is the most fun I have had bashing in the yard in a long time.

The Rockstar is what they had in the shop. My local track gives you a 5 day race pass if you buy in the store. I had to pay tax, but 5 free races is worth more.
I am going to pick up another set of tires. I could not go into a corner without it going sideways. I heard moving the battery to the rear would help, but with the factory battery strap, I could barley fit it in forward position. I needed to dremel the factory battery strap just to fit the LiPo because of the bullet connectors.
Can't give a good opinion of the motor yet. I went straight from the shop to the track and did not make any adjustments. I noticed that it took a lot of time to get the truck moving and figured there was a speed controller setting. Spent some time after the first practice (2 mins before the nitro guys went out) reading the speed controller manual. Could not find anything that would cause it to take off slow. After I ran the battery down I went home(only brought the one battery). Then it hit me, my slipper must be loose. Pulled off the cover and checked, sure enough it was slipping. Tightened it 3/4 turn.
Looking forward top my next practice. I plan on getting there early to beat the rush.
I was a bit disappointed when I was told my box stock truck would need to be raced in the mod class due to the "stock" motor it came with. They said I could race in stock class, until I start winning. I have a feeling that will take a while..

Make sure you calibrate the esc before you run it or it will be way slow.

I calibrated it after the first practice. Unfortunately, the sales representative did not know much about the SC10 RTR. I know I should have read the manual before driving it, but I was excited.

Nice rig! My wife just bought me my very first brand-new RC ever for my birthday this past weekend, a RTR Blitz

That is Awesome!
I was excited to buy my first modern buggy in over 20+ years. Kinda missed building the kit, but it was cheaper to buy RTR. Been studying the manual though

Good for you Sonic! I bought a SC10 for my girlfriend a couple years ago and I love it! We nearly fight over the radio whenever we go to the track!
