Just picked up a Gold tub.

Post by B.P. »

I just picked up a lightly used gold tub last Saturday. I'm in need of some original wheels and tires. Are there any other Vintage RC10 forums that you guys frequent for parts that are not as strict with access to for sale threads? I'll never get to 25 posts so finding what I need here is not an option.

Thanks

Alternatively, you can watch on eBay for the items you are looking for. No-one on the B/S/T forum has hundreds of new, unused vintage RC10 wheels that they are trying to sell, I promise! People here use eBay as much as anyone else.

I would suggest searching the forum for information on using new modern wheels (2.2 inches) on your old RC10. Even if you do find the old wheels, the tires are extremely difficult to come by. You will see that many of the people in these forums are still running their old cars, but with new wheels and rubber.

Obviously, if you are looking to just stick it on the shelf, that is a different matter.

Good luck.

It will definitely be a shelf queen. I'm wanting to restore it to runnable condition and put it on the shelf. I ran one of these back in the late 80's like I'm sure most of you did. I picked this thing up at a local hobby shop on consignment for $60.00. It came with wheels on it but they have a green tint to them. I'll try to post some pics.

One thing I have learned very quickly in this hobby is you need to have a little patience in order to find the things you want 25 postes doesn't take a life time especially if you are truely interested in the vintage rc's

the b/s/t on this forum is not some sort of magical place where everything you desire will be for sale by someone. we have to buy stuff on ebay, too.

Thanks. I've searched ebay and have seen those. I'm hoping to spend a little less.

This thing has aluminum shock towers. Were aluminum towers ever an option? They look like they might be homemade.

hmn, interesting, put some rubber on those green rims it might look cool ! lol and i personally have only seen aluminum home made shock tower jobs like that, not to say there wasnt some aftermarket somewhere from 25 years ago. a front / rear pic might help identify them :P. also, welcome, even if you do not want to stay
