MR4-MB

This was sitting on my shelf as a 4WD buggy when I got offered a spot in the truck class for a big race. Not sure if an opening would present itself still for 2WD or 4WD I decided to take the opportunity and started a rebuild to make this into a "modernized" Monster Beetle.

I had lots of trouble in the 6 qualifier heats: mainly because the car would simply not turn under power and would oversteer completely when slowing down.
As a result I was hitting a lot of stuff; with links popping off and other damage, so had a couple unfinished runs
During the 6 final runs I managed to get it a bit better; with different tires and a lot of tuning on the suspension. It still was a very big handfull to handle and I think the moter is pretty much shot. It would only accelerate ever so slowly, even after I went several teeth down, yet the moter never went excessively hot over the 5min runs.

New are the omitted front drive system12mm hex conversion for back and front, and widened track for the rear: using some modern Tamiya dogbones, HPI axles and original ultima rear axle carriers.

I ended last, not a real surprise, but was happy with the improvement over the 2 days. I'm still undecided wheither to go 4WD monster, 4WD buggy, 2WD buggy or keep it as is.

I don't have many yellow ones; so they kind of stick out from the pile of spacers.
That makes it easy to pick out 2 identical ones when in a hurry ;)
