Hi I am after an original JRX (I have a post in the BST) but I am looking for some clarification on the models. I thought that only the original JRX had the trick trailing suspension links but this one has them also and it's listed as a JRX2 can anyone educate me please

There is no such car as a JRX. The first buggy Losi produced was the JRX2. Meaning: JR stands for Gil Losi Jr. He designed the car. The X2 is the same as x 2, as in 2wd, or the 2wd drive version of 4X4.

The car in that auction is a JRX2, the first car Losi produced. However, it has a JRX Pro front shock tower and shocks. The stock JRX2 front shock tower is shorter and has two holes, and the shocks are shorter. Other than that, it looks like a very nice nearly-stock car. The JRX2 and JRXT both had the 5 link rear suspension and were the only cars that came with that setup in the box. The JRX Pro was the first car to come with the H-arm rear set up. The H arm conversion was available for the JRX2 before the JRX Pro came out though. I hope this helps.

I am looking for a good JRX2 as well. I bought one on ebay, but it's not in as good of condition as I would like. I've been gathering NIB parts for a restore, and parts are pretty affordable. But, there are two nice JRX2 completes (one is the one you posted) listed on ebay right now, and I intend to win one of them. I just sold a bunch of stuff on ebay, so my payapl account is stacked, so I think I'm going to treat myself.

There is no such thing as a JRX. The first car ever produced by Team Losi was called a JRX-2. It came stock with the 5-link trailing arm rear suspension, bottom-load cartridge shocks, low rotating mass tranny, plastic "slider" universal driveshafts, adjustable wing mounts and is what we all know of as the first real competitor to the RC10's domination (Ultima be damned).

The H-arm rear suspension was a Losi conversion part to change the dynamics of the rear of the car. Some guys ran the 5-link, some ran the H-arms. Losi cars after that included the Truck version (JRX-T) and then followed with other Losi kits that evolved the original car—longer wheelbase, better steering, better tranny, longer shocks, etc.

That original evolution stopped with the "XX" buggy, and then continued to the "XXX" line of cars, as well.

The recent iteration of the "JRX" badge includes the JRX-S and JRX-S Type R which are both revolutionary touring car chassis.

Correct me if i'm wrong but since you guys have the losi knowlege. The junior-2 was intended to be a entry level buggy. All the racers liked the chassis so much that it layed down the foundation for the xx buggy? That is what I have been told.

That's the other one I plan to go after too.

Mr2.4T, yes the Jr2 was an entry level car. But, with a bearing set it was just as competitive as any buggy on the market. Yeah, if you look at the XXX, the B4, the TC3, etc, they all kind of owe their chassis design to the chassis on the Jr2. I believe the JRX Pro SE also had this style of chassis, but molded in composite. I do know for a fact that the LXT came with that style chassis design, as I had a LXT conversion on my JRX2. The Jr2 was an entry level car, but it wasn't a "toy" by any means. Add some bearings and it was just as competitive as any other buggy on the track. The Jr2 really was the first good "entry" level car ever made, in my opinion. All other entry level cars at the time were toys compared to it.

Hmmmm, I have two, both new built (the non truck version). Let me think it over.

i got both of those in my watchlist...

the Junior-2 and junior-t entry level trucks had a few differences from the jrx-t and jrx-2. They had bushings throughout, plastic molded chassis, plastic molded shock towers, and threaded rod instead of turnbuckles. They also came stock with h-arms instead of the 5-link suspension.

Not me. I totally forgot that it was ending tonight. Now I'm kicking myself. I was willing to go higher than what it sold for. Now I gotta go to bed mad. What an idiot I am.

That is a great price. I seem to remember that around X-mas time, one went for $500 or $600. Anyone here the last man standing?
