My 5 link fleet
With everyone posting their goodies one place I got inspired, here are my top items at the moment.
JRXT - RPM wide links, and side mounts, tecnacraft bling turnbuckles. This body once belonged to Aconsola here.
New JRX2 - Built in 1989, never run, brand new early run car.
Racer JRX2 (Pro chassis, SE front shock tower, RPM arms, carriers, steering arms, ball bearing steering, new threaded shocks, dual ball bearing diff with dual disc slipper and 13.5T brushless power and some nits and nats.)
Composite craft chassis (likley will be built with full aftermarket parts)

Re: My 5 link fleet
Great stuff! I like them all - especially the runner & the new-built car - how do you find the runner car to drive??

Re: My 5 link fleet
I am hardly a top driver and have only had it at the track twice so far, I am still experimenting with set ups. It drives very well, I have tons of traction, I was not sure how the 5 link would handle the smooth clay track but it really puts the power down and turns in well. It might be better with H-arms but I will never know on this one.
I intially had some issues with bottoming out. I switched to #56 pistons and 35wt. oil all around, orange springs all around and moved the rear shocks to the first hole on the trailing link and out on the shock tower. It seems I need ot run the rear stiffer with the 5-link to me. My old XX did well with red springs in back but they just seem to soft on this car. This all helped and now if I hit the jump right its going well. Now I just need to work on me.
The transmission is smooth as butter, so far I have run about 8 full LIPOS through it and it is smooth and quiet with 13.5T brushless.

I'm a fan! Very nice cars you have there. The 5 link is such a unique setup that even my non-rc friends (I know!
) are fascinated by it.

Re: My 5 link fleet
My wife thinks it should be called a 4 link as she refuses to count the rear camber link since other cars have it, or she says other cars should be called a 2 linkRedScampi wrote:I'm a fan!
