So i've been checking ebay daily for weeks now and i simply can't find an rc10b2. Every time i type it in it brings up a listing of rc18b2s.

I have a functional rc10, b3 and b4, and the b2 is the only one left of the 2wd family which i have to find...for now (well it's only time before a b5 gets released).

Why are b2's so hard to find?

because it was very short-lived... most everyone agreed the B2 was too hard to set-up for the average driver. There's even records of some top-dogs that reverted back to their worlds car after a few months with the b2. Yes it won the worlds in 95 when just released, but it was replaced relatively quickly in 97 by the B3... I think some people were also shocked that it was a plastic car so they probably sold way less of them than planned. This makes it the shortest lived of the RC10's.

I still like it though

Yeah, i started saving up for my first rc car in 98 and i had the option of either getting a b2 or b3 sport at a slightly higher price. I went with the b3 of course, although to a 13 year old just starting the hobby they looked the same.

Not too long ago i looked up what actually made the b2 and b3 different and i have to say that the changes are very few and small. Did they really make that much of an impact on its performance? I mean the car was only widened about a half inch.

Anyway, thank you for the explanation. I'm still going to keep my eyes open for a b2. I need to complete this quartet before my brain goes in tilt.

Finding a B2 can be a chore! And that 1/2" in width makes a huge difference on the track as far as stability goes-

The B2's are not really worth that much right now (new about the same value as a B4)

yeah well luckily for my wallet i'm not looking for a nib or pristine condition one.

Yes the shortest run of all RC10 kits. It took me a while but I ended up getting a new built one on the bay for under $100. The listing showed it with no body and didn't state it came with a body. B2 bodies are also very hard to find so I was pleased when I got it it came with a clear body I think that is the only reason for the low price.

They differ that much in measurements from the b3 body? I always thought it was the same fit.

The styling is different, that is about it- the B2 shell ( not sport model) is the B2 Stealth ( or RCPS Turbo Mirage II ) and the B3 is an AE shell- or maybe proline

The biggest reason why you can't find a b2 is ignorance ....don't get me wrong...not yours but the sellers. Most of them don't know a b2 from a b3 but with all the b3 out there it must be a b3 . Of course this is just my $.02 but with the onslaught of estate sale junkies out there doing this to just make a buck on ebay it could easily be true...

i'm sure more than a few b2 owners purchased the b2 to b3 conversion kit, too. another reason for there being less b2's.

yeah, you can find what 'used to be' b2's pretty well on ebay, get to know the differences between the B3 and B2, and you might get lucky and find a B2 listed as a B3, or at least most of one. You can find B2 parts, but it's not terribly easy. Just need to keep your eyes peeled.

i've seen several B2's and parts for them over the last year that went for a reasonable prices, so they are out there.

I agree and based upon this conversation, I went hunting through my house a few days ago and did not find what I was looking for.

But tonight after a litte prolonged hunting, I found all of my original B2 painated bodies and wings from my time racing with Associated! I knew I had them somewhere since I hadn't gotten rid of them all of these years, but had not located them until just now!!

I also still have my entire original pre-production B2 and also one with all the normal retail/production B2 parts, as well as a brand new one in the box (still unassembled) that I never had the time or chance to build since the B3 upgrade parts were sent out to us from Associated soon after I got my only B2 boxed one I guess. I just have to locate my original shocks for the B2's and I can put them back together.
I'm going to have to buy another glass cabinet.

Now that I found my old original bodies, I can finish these up with the original electronics, since I kept everything and display them for the forums.
