What do you think about a new sub forum?

I love to see all these "Retro Racers" and the builds that accompany them with everyones personalities in each car.
But Much like the new "Touring" versions of 1969 SS Camaro's using the LS3 engines, Corvette suspension and Tremec 6 speed trans- I would like them to be in there own place, Don't get me wrong I built one and still like seeing them-
But I kinda miss seeing all the "period" correct cars that take so much more time to aquire parts and "real" Vintage stuff in this forum-
Am I nuts? Anyone else?

I'm with ya, I have every intention of putting a what's old is new rig together however for me a proper old skool build just can't be beaten.
Sub forum gets my vote.

If it's an RC10, then it goes in the RC10 forum. Don't water down the site by sub-dividing everything.
just my 98 cents

Sorry, but I agree with Mark. Keep it as-is. This site isn't insanely high traffic like rctech where posts scroll down very quickly. I think it's still manageable to sort through the topics to find ones you care about.

yeah, i don't think its a forum problem as much as it's everyone starting to build the 'old is new' stuff.
guys are building more than the true period correct stuff because you get 90% satisfaction without the heartache of hunting down rare(er) parts and with less fear of breaking hard-to-find parts...if you want shelf, build the true vintage; if you want runner, it's a modern upgrade path.....very logical and pretty much how I think most of the guys are on here.....
that's just my take on it, but I like to gather up parts and build frankensteins' anyway, never was a 'true form' kind of guy, so fwiw.......

i am torn... as a newbie, that would help me search for something easier.
But if my search works correctly it should work either way...

I agree with you a new section would ease in looking for references

I would like to see tags or something for a thread, so we know if you're talking about a restoration or a runner or custom or something like that. Scale 4x4 or something used to have their forum separated by truck type, but then changed it to 1.9" and 2.2" forums, so you never knew where to look for stuff on the Tamiya High Lift, TLT-1, etc. If people actually used them, they would be a really handy way to search for a specific topic.

a good idea for sure! unless topic's are bookmarked it certainly is an effort finding what your looking for, i enjoy period correct the most and would love a section just for them. the title's some member's use just don't give it away until the pic's come up. i'm forever searching with an average memory

I'm torn also. On one hand I agree with not too much subdivision for what is here but on the other hand I don't go to the parts of forum that don't interest me because I know by the name there is nothing there I understand

. So I guess I'd lean towards subdividing the rc10 section into period correctness and old is new type thing.
Either way I guess Scr8p will let us know what he thinks

Gold pan RC10 with jelly bean wheels vs. a gold pan RC10 with B4 wheels... they are both RC10s. One is ready to race on today's tracks, one isn't. B4 wheels or Edinger gold pans—they are all RC10s, and should not be divided up IMO. Just makes it harder for most people to figure out where to post, and it's already too diluted down for my tastes for such a simple forum topic.

well, being as though reggie has asked me about this WEEKS ago and i've yet to do anything about it means i either don't want to add a subforum, or i don't know if i do.
i guess i look at from the stand point of....... whether it's a modern racer or a vintage shelfer, it's still an rc10. put it in the rc10 forum.

We could name the old forum whats old is old and still old
Personally I like it the way it is. 1 click to check out all the build threads.

Yeah, it just seemed like the RC10 Forum was taking a bit of a turn in a new direction and, while I like the direction I missed the killer builds and stupid rare stuff that seems to be taking a back seat, anyway just thought I would see where everyone else was at-
