6 gear trans bearings?

HI!... So I started to restore my RC-10 Graphite car and it has a 6 gear trans. All my previous RC-10's have had the Stealth trans. It currently has bushings, and worn one's at that. I want to convert it to ball bearings, sealed bearings are preferred.

Can someone post up some AE part #'s or the bearing sizes needed?

Thanks :

Neal.

2 bearings 3/16"x5/16" UNFLANGED
6 bearings 3/16"x5/16" FLANGED

there's only (5) flanged 3/16 x 5/16 bearings. (1) 1/4 x 3/8 flanged for the diff tube. then the (2) 3/16 x 5/16 plain bearings.

and if you want to do the outdrive bearing mod, you'll need (2) 3/8 x 5/8 plain bearings.

HI!... O.k, I'm only counting 6 bushings all together to convert to bearings. Where are you guys getting the other ones from? Also, do these bearings only come in "METAL SHIELD". I was hoping to find some with "RUBBER SHIELD".

What is the "Outdrive bearing mod"????? Pics? Link?

Thanks :

Neal.

you need 2 bearing per gear drive. one plain, one flanged on each. so there's 4. 2 per idler gear, 1 on the topshaft, and 1 on the diff tube. 8 total bearings.

the out drive mod is simply replacing the dust felts on the outside of the case with bearings. if you do that, 10 total bearings.

http://www.avidrc.com has metal sheilded, ceramic, and rubber sealed bearing. they even have bearings that are rubber sheiled on one side, metal on the other.

HI!... O.k thanks for the info. I always buy my bearings from AVID. I searched around their site and couldn't find any flanged bearings that are needed with rubber shielding? Only metal. Unless I'm missing them somehow?????

they're probably too small for rubber sheilds. i would personally never use rubber sheilded bearing in a trans, too much resistance. but that's just me.

HI!... Well I was also thinking for the front wheel and rear wheel bearings. Due to dirt/dust I like to run the rubber shielded bearings. Can't seem to find any for flanged bearings.

HI!... O.k I ordered enough bearing from AVID to build two 6 gear trans. I couldn't get the (1) 1/4 x 3/8 flanged bearing due to they were out of stock. They will notify me when they are back in stock.
