This is my second Ebay score

It's going to take some $$ and lots of work to get this puppy to original. The tub is stamped with a A near the motor area. I'm spraying some paint remover now and it seems to be working. I got it at Wally World. It's called Aircraft paint remover. Nasty stuff, but it works great. The pics are pre-remover. Have a great work week folks.

wow....

But, the positives....

Hot Trick wide front end with shock tower
Good shocks all around
Almost complete car (minus the "cheese" grater), hinge pins, arms tranny looks complete too.
Body looks in good shape (for pink!) and a full set of jelly bean wheel.

Pick up a nice chassis, re-dye the parts a bright red (or black?) and build a great car.

The tranny is complete and the buggy came with a Speed Gem 2 motor (blue can) and Hiteck Radio and Traxxas XL-1 ESC. I just won another vintage RC10 on Ebay and it should arrive next week sometime. It's in much better shape than this one.

Aircraft remover strips powder coat quite nicely. I did a write-up on here somewhere about it. I've never tried it on plastic before but I've heard it turns it to jelly. I do know from experience that you should wear heavy duty gloves while working with that stuff as it gives you chemical burns if left on bare skin long enough.

I have one that looks alot like yours. It turned out to be a good runner. Just like I am sure you are thinking, I swapped the good parts from the holey one to a nicer looking chassis for mundane parts, and , ta-da, something I let my nephew run without cringing all the time.

I do notice on yours there isn't any screw holes for the front battery holder(if you were going to mount battery the long way), but otherwise looks ok to my amateur eye.

Thanks for the vote of confidence gents. The servo holes for the holder were drilled out. I'm currently eying another chassis on Ebay and using all the parts to make a decent runner. I'll update you as I go along. Thanks again folks.

Thanks Freak. I've added them to my list of eying.

So it begins, the rebuilding that is.

Here are a few pics of an RC10 "cheese grater" I won on Ebay. I'm replacing the "grater" with another A stamped chassis soon. All the red parts were redyed black. Can you guys tell me if I have the 6 gear or stealth tranny? This thing has bearing through out, very cool. Hope to have it running soon.

Can you weigh the cheese grater and a regular tub chassis and see what the difference is?
