I am not sure if this is a sought after car from Team Associated but I got a very good deal on a B3 Rolling Chassis. The car is in pristine built but never used condition and it comes with an Associated Power 15 Motor. This car came with bushings but I plan to run this baby so I need to change all the bushings with ball bearings. Below is a photo of the car that I got:

Will be interested to compare notes on what bearing source you go through. Not sure if you can still buy a complete set for this car or if you have to know the sizes you need and buy them individually.

I got lucky the other day and picked up a complete set on ebay for a great price (new old stock) duratrax, I think?

should be the same as a late RC10 except for the hub bearings, or a B4 except for 2 hub bearings, I think...all the stealth's use the same bearings, the front wheels are the same (if not flanged), the only other difference is in the rear hubs.

I'd just go through the manual, find the sizes, and order through AVIDrc. Would probably be the cheapest/easiest to find.

Also, Boca Bearings do bearing sets for many cars and are available on eBay. I noticed that they have full sets for the JRX2 the other day for less than $20, so they are definitely more affordable than purchasing separately. Search "Boca Bearings" in title and description on eBay and you should come up with something.

Are T3 bearings the same? I didn't see the econo line listed specifically for the B3. If they are the same ...

Sizes of the bearings are in the listing. I would blast out whatever grease they have them packed in and re-lube with light bearing oil, but that is pretty easy to do, esp. for $17.

That set will fit any Stealth car or truck with 3/16" rear axles. Avid RC sells rubber sealed bearings for about $1 each.

Definitely degrease the bearings; carefully pry out the seals with a new Xacto blade and set them aside, then soak them in a pill bottle full of motor spray for a while. You'll actually see chunks of grease floating in it. Then flush them with motor spray and let them dry, then try some silicone/teflon spray lube, like Cow RC Moo Slick or DuPont in the orange can, and then slip the seals back in. It makes a big difference in friction. I did this to the new rubber sealed bearings in my SC10 and it's like night and day.

Cool, another B3! In the last few months I've noticed more popping up here and on ebay. I guess that means auction prices are gonna skyrocket! Makes me happy I got one from craigslist!

i was shocked to find out that on the t4.1 and all .1's the outdrive bearings are metric.....prob the gear diff sc10 outdrive bearings are metric too

I was surprised to find that too. The SC10 with the gear diff used metric, and then the B/T 4.1 came with it as well. I don't know why Associated did it, because they needed to make a new gearcase and also a new ball diff for the gearbox with the metric bearings.

that's weird.....I didn't take notice to that at all....actually, I haven't checked out the x.1 products much yet, so that makes sense....I have a feeling it's due to Thunder Tiger and availability of cheaper parts to go with the metric stuff...wouldn't surprise me if the x.2 or B5 turns all metric. That would suck for building old/new cars, as the standard axles and parts would phase out.....

Yeah, the rest of the truck is the same, not sure why they did it. I don't think it had much to do with cost, since the rest of the truck is still standard, and the bearings are virtually the same size as the bearings for the ball diff.

Kyosho made went even further with the Ultima STs in the early 2000s; the racer used the standard bearings that Losi and Associated did, while the sport version used metric bearings, meaning completely different plastic parts as well.

Aside from not fitting everything else we have, going to 5x11 bearings would actually be beneficial; they are larger and more durable than the 3/16x3/8 bearings.
