LXT / X2 differences?

The trans on the left came off an LXT I had and the right an X2. The outdrives on the LXT look beefier, are they fully interchangable? They look like they do away with the rings the X2 has between the case and outdrive?

short answer...yes.

all the LRM parts are interchangeable, regardless of the car they came off.

There's a "Losi parts variation" thread somewhere on the board, there are LOTS of variations over the years.
