US Top Gear

Any one else here attempt to digest the "new" US Top Gear? I threw up twice for the first episode, and enjoyed the Mitsu Lancer Evo bit on tonight's show-but am otherwise utterly
disgusted.

And the US "Stig", hmmmmm, let's see a 105 lb race driver that is affiliated with the new show? Maybe that incredible joke/host Tanner Proust?

I have it set to record so we'll see if I get the same reaction

I just can't bring myself to watch it. The reason Top Gear is such a good show is because of James,Jeremy and Richard aka "The Hamster". I watch a lot of BBC shows, the Mighty Boost rules. Y'all should check that one out on dvd if you get a chance it is hilarious.

Yes, it is horrid. I think Tanner is ok but the other 2 ruin it and I just could not continue to watch. Send that one guy back to Speed channel where he is the court jester for nascar. Puke, puke, double and triple puke.

My comment is similar. Tanner Foust is good at what he does, the other two are nauseating.

They did the show with the same style of the UK version, but dumbed it down for Americans as if we had no idea of the original show. It's made for the masses, and assumes you are a moron and have never heard of Top Gear before.

I haven't watched the new episode lately, and I would like to have 4 or 5 shows in the hopper before I pass full judgment and throw it to the sharks, but the first one left me really disappointed. None of the personality of the original show at all.

That's a tall order to fill straight out of the gate.

I've not seen the show yet, though I didn't have very high hopes for it when the first round of hosts included Adam Corolla - Seriously? WTF????

I wonder when Blinks will start carrying it so that those of us without cable can view it.

It seems like they lifted the entire format right from the UK version but it's not funny. I don't see this one lasting very long unless they figure out their own success formula.

It reminded me of the first few episodes of the original Top Gear...not overly amusing. I hope it gets better as the season goes on.

And if Adam Corolla was a host, I would honestly never watch that show. :|

They should replace Adam Corrola with Eddie Griffin

Yes, you like the Mighty Boosh! One of my fave shows, so many classic lines to steel from that show. Have you tried Peep Show, also Gavin and Stacy is very funny.

Used to watch it Top gear UK religiously but lost interest in the last season, they were taking it too far and maybe becoming a bit of a parady? Still a great show. Doubt I will watch the US show, do they have their own format or are they using tried and tested?
