RC10T into a RC10 buggy?

I posted this in Temple's Tech with no response so I deleted it and am posting it here:

I did a google search and a long search here but didn't find anything this specific. I thought I saw a thread here before, maybe not.

I have a complete 10T (in pieces) that I was keeping as a backup for my 10T runner. I regularly look at ebay and here for a clean buggy but am either too late (here) or not willing to pay crazy money on ebay.

So, how easy is it to turn my truck into a buggy? Would it be as expensive as an ebay purchase in the long run?

I am not concerned about ROAR specs or having a period correct buggy.

I'm sure I would need shocks and towers. Would RPM truck arms work (front and rear)? Bulkheads? Will either shocks work?

I plan on running modern wheels and tires. I will also add a B4 slipper set-up and CVDs. Will adding the B4 top shaft give me the proper ratio for a buggy?

If the truck arms won't work, I will use RPM arms front and rear. I was wondering if the truck arms would work giving me a wider stance.

Will the truck steering set up work (servo saver) even with RPM buggy arms?

I have seen guys using the T nose plate. Will the front bulkhead not work with the buggy suspension tower?

Sorry for all the questions...I'm sure there will be more.

I know it's asking alot of you guys! Thanks in advance.

Arms such as the Dynotech Klien type, turnbuckles, CVA's for a B44, and B4 rear hubs, B4 inline steering setup are about all you need. Look up "what's old is new" sticky for more info

ok i converted my rc10 6 gear in to a t , so here is what you will need to do the reverse.

ft arms ,ft shock tower ,nose plate, nose tubes, shocks, rims ,tires you may need to arms mounts its beena few year since i did the conversion so i maybe wrong on some things

R Arms, Bones or cvds, rear shock tower and shocks, tires and rims.

if i am wrong please correct me, i did my conversion in 92 and my memory is not as good as it once was

You're right, "the old is new" has a lot of great ideas. I guess I need to re-read those posts with a pen and pad next to me.

I checked out the Dynotech stuff, kinda pricey for me. I would prefer to use RPM stuff all around.

Thanks for the info.

Thanks. I've seen many builds using truck nose plates and I guess tubes.

Since the 10T is a buggy on steroids, I figured I could work backwards and make it a buggy...just like you said.

You should search ebay prices on the RPM parts, especially the Worlds 91 arms before you say that

RPM arms (70542 and 70442) are only $9.50 new each pair. Are those no good?

they're not the same as the dynotech arms. if they were, no one would buy the dynotech arms.

scr8p - I was doing some more research on the site and I found an old post of your's where someone asked for specs on the Dynotech arms. The rear measure the same as as 10T rears.

Just to be sure, can I use RPM 10T arms for my conversion?

Will the RPM 10T front arms do the job or are they too long?

10t arms are much longer than the dynotech arms......... front and rear.
