Hello, today I got a call from a friend in the LHS and he sends me a pic of this guy.
I am not all that familiar with on road cars so i would like to get your feedback.

Te only predominant parts looks like a Hot Tricks chassis and lightspeed heat sink motor mount.

tell me what you think.

that's pretty cool. I think usually the is the bottom plate alloy and the top plate and chassis are the same material, but it all looks the same. Are the chassis and pod plates all anodized alloy?

sorry, after a closer look, it appears that it's all fiberglass?

Yes, just red fiberglass. That's all Hot Trick ever did. The Race Prep motor is nice, as is the Litespeed heatsink, but that's about it. I guess it's period-correct, but I never saw anyone replace a fiberglass chassis with an expensive fiberglass chassis because it was red. Seems kind of like a senseless "upgrade" for a carpet car if you think about it.

To this day—25 years later—I still can't figure out the obsession then/now with the garbage that Hot Trick sold.

I agrre with Rouge, the hot trick stuff doesn't do anything for me but there are many who really like the parts, which there is nothing wrong with.

The car looks to be in nice condition. Miguel if you can get this car at a good price, go for it. You know I have been looking for a 12L, maybe you could buy it then send it to me since I am such a nice guy

This car is in excellent shape and it all looks period correct, I even have the original Futaba Magnum Jr. Plus the litesink stuff is awesome.
I am thinking the original owner race the 12L and then got the HT chassis but never ran it or ran it a couple of time because the chassis has no scratches at all.

Carpet cars survive REALLY well... they don't scratch in race conditions hardly ever. ;)
