A Craigslist 10T brought me to this forum/addiction. A few months back I found a B3 and picked it up.

It looked to be in good shape at first but the tear down revealed some problems (missing parts, wrong hardware, etc.). All and all, not a bad buggy to start with.

Erich had one remaining chassis which I picked up and the builld started (thanks again). I also found a CVD set online. Right now, I am half-way through the build and I am pretty excited.

So far the only 'mod' has been a modern slipper set-up. I will be running a 17.5 Novak.

Please comment or offer any suggestions as I post.

Nice to see a B3 being given some love! It looks like you are coming on well with this - your work area in the background looks neat & organised too, which I think always is a big help in keeping the build methodical & avoid mistakes.

Its strange that B3/B2 spares seem to be harder to come by than those for the older RC10s - my mate has been racing one (with a 6.5 BL set-up) with some success, but last time he ran it, he broke one of the rear arm mounts. As he does not have access to the internet he asked me to see if I could find some for him - it took a while to find a pair on e'bay for him - The spares must be out there, but I think the market is such, that there is little demand so it doesn't seem worth seller's while to move them on.

Thanks...I try to keep the little area I have as organized as I can.

I was lucky to find some B3 parts marked down - it allowed me to have some spares. I have been pretty lucky finding spares from some online stores, too.

do the dimentions of the rear bumper line up with th eoriginal pan rc10? I love the looks of it.....

Not sure. RPM lists it for the B2,B3, and T3. It's no longer available - it was in the box with the other discounted stuff I found. I was pretty psyched to find one, the fact that it's blue made it even cooler for me.

So I've moved on to the shocks. Disassembled, cleaned, and new rebuild kit. Only one has been assembled. They are not going together smoothly. Checked for burrs, oiled...all the stuff you should do.

If these keep giving me the hassle, I may buy new ones. What available shocks will work for on my B3?

front B4 or B44(I think), and rear 1.32" buggy....B4 and I think B44 use 1.18" rear shocks, that will work, but will not be exact.

lemme know if you are tossing those shocks......

All the plastic washers and spacers fit...but the o-rings kept splitting. Any tips?

either the orings are dried out and hard, or maybe you don't have enough oil on them when assembling?

sounds like an odd problem....can you snap some pics of what you are looking at?

The o-rings were from a new rebuild kit. I oiled both the assembly and the inside of the shock. I've never had this problem. The inside of the shocks are clean. I'm gonna try another set of o-rings and see what happens.

The rings that came out of the shocks before the rebuild were all intact.

Try and try again and again and again....

Was/is there a wide front bumper available for the B3 (B2)? I searched online but found nothing.

Just installed the front servo. Not much since then. I'm now scatching my head while bugging other members about how to make my spare 10T a buggy.

The 'old is new' thread is a great resource.

I loved my B3 when it came out and now i have a almost new one with a lot of upgrades waiting for me to take time and build it.

Looks like you replace the top shaft of the tranny with a B4 slipper setup? That looks very nice and it will help you out in the track, especially if you go with a brush-less set up.
