Dang, you aren't playing around, that looks incredible! Very nice work.
I don't know what kind of cool decals you're talking about, but I'd keep them off and keep it as realistic as possible!

Thats the first time I've ever seen a functional hood or even tailgate on one! I love the bed as well. Truthfully, I think this just might be the best modded Clod body I've ever seen and you're not even done yet.

Thanks a lot guys for the compliments- the picture does hide a lot of blemishes that i need to look at (primer coat highlighted these issues). This is my first time with styrene work and it is incredibly easy to work with. I was surprised and having a fun time with it.
Decals- GMC... only got the gmc logos to go on the grill and rear tailgate with one extra surprise that will "kick it up" one level...you'll have to wait but won't be disappointed. Thanks again for the encouragement!

WOW!
That's gonna look great when it's done!
Did you make the bed insert and tailgate?..that's sweet!

The bed was a machined put-together kit from Rogue Component Elements. You glue all the parts together and have to do the sanding and shaping. For instance the wheel wells actually are five square pieces that you have to use files, sandpaper and a gage to get the radius right. Sweet setup! I decided to make the tailgate operational and then made it happen.
So to answer your question yes and no

I agree, keep it simple.
Show off the hard work, don't cover it with graphics...stock is
in.

where did you shorten the wheelbase? I can't really tell where you did?
that is really cool...the old chevies are the best, and that tamiya body was such a great replica! the bed details and what you have done with the hood, etc are super!

painted up... I always touch the paint too early and mess it up. I had pretty good self control this time. Only one spot where the paint bled through the masking- yay. I am actually gonna chrome out all the trim so this isn't the final product. I am still debating the roof being silver?!
Here's something I was thinking to set it off a little and add that extra detail
Went with a faithful guy, kevin from Vinyl 7, if you ever need work. His prices are great, easy to deal with and does everything very timely.
So yeah- here's to the next step I need everything to dry real good.

Man, that looks so realistic, I can almost see a gun-rack in the rear window and hear redneck hillbillies hollerin' "Yeee-HAWWW!!!"

I can only agree .The thing is frightening!!!

Could come straight from a Stephen King movie! The truck without a driver, which wipes out the whole village. Very, very cool
