so I got this chassis set from a guy who claimed he was a sponsored JG driver and had this made up for him but he never used it...I tossed in some pro xl a arms to widen it up . its almost like a squre in its dimensions. cant say Ive ever built a car like this before. i used front shocks i had laying around that were two different length shafts. (longer in the rear) looking for a decent on road style body for it but not sure what to look for. here are some pics...

I just picked up a Ultima Pro at the local junk store, in a box with a radio shack monster truck for $20.00. All the Pro is going to need is the upper fiberglass tray and a body. Dave (DW911) has this upper tray for sale and I was wondering if any...

the pro's flat brown anodised alu chassis has the same wheelbase as a stadard or turbo ultima. But apparently that chassis was not the noe included with the pro for thUS market? Still I think the wheelbase is only different for the kelron and...

When I restored my Turbo Ultima a billion years ago now, I remember remembering that I had to buy the motor guard separately AND I wore out the final pinion which was replaced with the hard version. So the list that radioactivity posted is correct....

So, I was getting a bit nostalgic and pulled out a couple of cars from 30 years ago. I cannot remember if this was an Ultima or a turbo Ultima. Can someone help?

Its an Ultima with alot of mods...yes its worth restoring...be patient on ebay, etc....searching for each part u need..it will cost big money but worth it!

Hey, thanks for the props! :)

The steering setup I used should also work on the Ultima's ladder chassis. The Lazer steering I used can be configured like a stock Ultima or arranged like I did which is similar to most modern race buggies.

saw an ad for an Ultima RB and was wondering if you could tell me what it is. Plastic chassis, mechanical speed control, plastic links instead of turnbuckles. 2WD equivalent of the Lazer Alpha? What's a reasonable price for one in decent condition...

Time for a topic change: New project (as if I needed another one... :roll: ): Ultima ST on crack. See post five for what I'm starting with.

Does anyone know whether the Ultima RB or Ultima ST Type-R suspension arms fit older Ultimas?

As evo mentioned higher up these are 4-5 mm shorter than the optima ones. You can tell cause the optima ones would never fit between the outdrives and those rear axle carriers.
(the optima rear carriers having lots more offset)

I've had this one almost ready for awhile, but only put the electronics in last saturday evening as the radical ultima was not doing well on the slippery hard clay track.
Turned out to be the right decission as the car felt sooo much better on this...
