Chrome Pan 10T project

this started in buggy section but decided to make it a truck, still waiting on the nose plate and some other parts

heres what i got so far

its plated, the inside of the tub is polished but everything else is plated

If it's not a runner, you could get the plastic parts 'chrome plated', like they do for model car parts, or try Alclad chrome paint.

Interesting concept. I've never seen an ae chassis chromed before. I personally prefer the look of polished aluminum, but this def. original.

I figure this build isn't for running, but I'd be real careful when installing all the screws into the chassis, as the plating might get real thin inside the countersunk areas and whatnot, and be tempted to peel/bubble.

I think the front shocks might need to go, though, as they appear to be older buggy fronts.

That is pretty cool. Did you have the shock bodies chromed also, or are they painted?

will do...ive been pretty busy and havent had time to work on it but soon i will...and ya the shocks are buggy shocks so i will have to pick up some polished truck ones.

i used oven cleaner, a drill with a 4-40 rod and nuts, and some mothers n polished em up... :lol:

That sure is going to be purty.
But a shame if it's going to be a shelfer, as nobody's going to see it but you.

I was thinking of doing something similar, but using chrome powder coating and making a runner out of it.

dont worry it will be seen...i have my non stamp on display and customers comment n compliment all day...ima be displayin this one rite next to it :lol: :lol: best of luck with ur runner build, keep us posted :shock:
