Hi guys,

Got a brand new AE .15 Nitro Engine for an original RC10GT

We got everything together, installed put some fuel in it and in no matter of time it was started.

It ran for maybe 7 or 8 minutes then I stalled it out. I decided to refill the gas and lets go out and try again.

This time, however the engine seems to lock up. Then I take the glow plug out, spin it around turn the wheel at the bottom to get some of the fuel out, then do it all over again...and the same things happen.

Any advice?

Convert it to electric, no stalls........

Is it a pull start? If so, after it stalls will the chord pull out or does it lock until you remove the glow plug and dump the fuel? If so, then you probably have it set too rich, which means fuel is backing up faster than the plug can burn it and it's stalling. If it still pulls then it might be too lean and not enough fuel is going in and it simply stalls from lack of fuel. The easiest way to tell how a nitro engine is running(at least until you're very familiar with the sound they make)is to look at the pipe. There should be a very light(but visible)stream of smoke coming out. More so at take off than when running full speed. To be on the safe side though it should always be visible to some extent. This is of course assuming that there are no air leaks in the engine or exhaust system. That's another big problem with nitro. This forum is mostly set up around either electric cars or nitro cars that will never see a drop of fuel because they are vintage shelf pieces. You might get more/better advice at rctech.net or some place like that. I don't mean that in a smart ass get outta here sorta way, just in a realistic sorta way. Good luck. That sorta problem is the reason I hung up nitro. It can be fun, but it's a lot of maintenance.

Sounds to me like you are flooding it, and the piston is hydro-locking. Have you broken the engine in properly? Have you tuned it from the original break-in settings? Are you priming it before you start, possibly over-priming it? Just guessing from the limited info, but it sounds like over-priming to me. A GT that is setup well really doesn't need to be primed at all.
