Well, I had planned on making my 1000th post meaningful, but Reg and whole bunch of other people ruined it for me!!(Stupid r/c car sites with their posts about r/c cars…) Anyway, I thought this was common knowledge until a friend of mine gave me a crazy look when I sent a text to his email. It’s pretty handy and you can send or receive email with no charge(as long as you have texting).

The major US cellular carriers use the [email protected]_domain.com format for SMS to text capable cell phones, with a limit of 160 characters in the subject and message body (total).
Carrier Send Email to phonenumber@....
Alltel @message.alltel.com
AT&T @txt.att.net
Nextel @messaging.nextel.com
Sprint @messaging.sprintpcs.com
SunCom @tms.suncom.com
T-mobile @tmomail.net
VoiceStream @voicestream.net
Verizon @vtext.com (text only)
@vzwpix.com (pictures and videos)

Verizon users can register an alias at vtext.com to give out instead of their phone number. Both [email protected] and [email protected] will be valid addresses for the phone.
