MRP Kong. Finally got around to completing it. Still looking for a transmitter tho.. Need an old Aristo Craft 27 Mhz to match receiver. Here are some pics. Luckily it is a take off of the Hirobo Rock'n City. So spares are easier to come by than if it were a one off kit. In fact it is exactly the Rock'n City RC buggie. Just has bigger tires, added engine plate with another belt to lower gearing and a front shock mount/body mount. Everything else is Hirobo. The plastic belt protector on bottom even says Hirobo....???!!!!

That's a really nice Kong! I noticed they run the upper rear camber link out through a hole in the belt cover.

LOL Just noticed that too, guess it makes the belt cover rather pointless, doesn't it?

I always wanted a Kong as a kid. That was the truck that RCCA showed floating in water, right?

I think the MRP high roller was the "floater".

Yes, it seems pointless in the pics.
My Zerda has a similar arrangement. In that elongated hole in the plastic cover, there is a corrugated shaped rubber boot that snaps in place. On the other end, the boot tapers down and fits tight on the camber link.
I have my purchased new Zerda and noticed that is the one rubber part that deteriorated over the years. Probably why it is missing?
Great looking Kong BTW!

Excellent model. I've wanted one since the first issue of RCCA.

I your going to run it at all I'd recommend rehydrating the red nylon parts , I've run my Zerda a fair amount and those red nylon bits get quite fragile , all that's needed is to submerge them in water for 24hours , you can do it quicker with warm water up to 60°C but don't boil them .
Its a nice looking truck you got there and not common at all !
I wonder why they moved the motor ?
