I've been scratching my head why we do not enjoy the blue alu parts for our RC10 vintage? Is it because this car had been long forgotten or what? From this forum, I understand that there are still more nuts, including myself, whom really like this vintage runners, former Champ! As such, I've got myself into working with some parts out of aluminium for my gold tub! All are CNC machined and anodized close to Tamiya's blue...enjoy!

those look really nice, where did you get them?

These three parts had took me almost a month before completion. From designing on Autocad to finding of materials, R&D, finding good source for best anodizing etc...Finally I see the end products! Hahaha!

Hi Shodog and Dr., my friend own a CNC machine and I suggested to him why not we try making some parts for my rc collections. We then go ahead with the designing etc and wasted lotsa aluminim materials and DarDar! Here we have the end products after weeks of night oil...

Hi FERRETTI, I do made a few pairs as our CNC machine will run 6-8 pieces at one time. As such, do pm me if you are interested. All will be using the original inches screws, king pins, front plastic mounts etc. You do not need any modification whatsoever. Just remove your existing plastic arms and replace these alu arms. As for the rear arm mountings, they are similar to the stock 1.5 degrees offset.

I'll be making some front and rear bulk heads, arms etc for my Brat too! Not forgetting the C hub carriers, steering arms, bellcranks for my RC10!

I think it's because "Team Blue" didn't really get started using blue parts until the mid-to-late 90s with the Factory Team cars and parts. The original RC10s never used anything blue, outside of the odd Litespeed heatsink motor plate.

To me, blue anodizing looks really out of place on the vintage Associated cars.


Now, if they were a gold or deep yellow to match the original car, you might be on to something retro/new that might look a little more in place than the blue stuff.

But wait. What do you think if I farbricate a chassis in Blue? Presuming the whole car is Blue? Hee... that's my whole idea.

Color on the RC10 parts are not a problem. I'll be trying Ruby Red anodizing on them soon!!

Try searching inetrc's excellent cars on this forum and tamiyaclub to see how an RC10 looks with anodized arms in different colours. He's done it a couple of times. Lol.

hey guys their is youre awnser to the elusive rear arm mount. you could make a fortune just in rear arm mounts alone. you should make them in 1.5 degree and 0 degree.

Hi wyldbill, I won't be driving a Merc after selling these parts.... I fabricate them just for the fun of it and of coz, to restore my Gold Tub...
I do not think i'll be making the 0 degrees cos I do not have the plastic parts.

how about an aluminum transmission case for the 2.25 stealth that would be awesome. i know i would buy at least 2 if you made them.
