Project Unnecessary Metal: Shelfer Build

Some of you gents who've helped me obtain parts for this build have known I've been tracking down items for this for a while (bigjeepzz, atlas, jharris, THUNDERSTRIKE1, fastang, Brandon G, AYKBOBCAT). I finally have a good chassis that isn't perfect as I had hoped, but only has a few small scratches underneath so I think it'll do. I'm waiting on a few more parts including bearings, rear hub carriers, TQ20 rear tires, and I need to locate a graphite front shock tower. Ti turnbuckles from Lunsford are on the way and the body is at the painters (more on that later).
Here are some pics of what I have set to go. A-stamp gold pan chassis, nose, and motor mount, titanium nose tubes from bigjeepzz, tecnacraft alloy front axles, RCPS titanium hinge pins, every gold anodized aluminum piece atlas sells, titanium dogbones (one contributed by Thunderstrike), Sees wheels from Brandon that I hope to anodize gold, and a vintage MIP trans. I'll be doing a black gold theme on this one if you're wondering about the battery holders, bulkhead, and suspension pieces.
I'll post an update with more pictures as the build progresses.

I've had a similar project in my head for quite awhile now. Ah well its just another project I'd probably never get around to doing.

With that being said I'm really interested to see how this turns out.

Progress so far. Realized last night I have the wrong steering knuckles because I need the 6217 ones I believe for these Tecnacraft front axles. I bought 6216 which use the e-clip to hold it in and from my research today are the early RC10 kind. 6217 will allow the vertical hinge pin to go down through the hole in the axle, correct?

Yes, 6217 are the in-line blocks you need for those axles. That's looking great!

An integral part of this build arrived due to the generous swap Charlie Don't Surf (Reggie) allowed me to do for some stuff I had. More gold metal parts!

Yum!

Thats going to look great with the gold/black combo - the anodising between the chassis & the Atlas parts look to match pretty well, colour-wise?
Think i'll have to invest in some of his rear wishbone mounts for my runner.

A few updates. I test fitted some items like the nose tubes and the tie rods. I'll still need to work with the mounting of the ball ends and I have other Tecnacraft tie rods on order for the steering (longer ones). I really need to find this Composite Craft front shock tower. Notice the beautiful gold, titanium rear stub axles. Thanks Reggie!
Other parts on are on the way to the anodizer.

Parts came back from annodizing. I think the wheels are beautiful but they are definitely more orange than the chassis. They match my gold pan runner chassis much better but then if I used a late Cadillac gold/orange like that, atlas's gold suspension parts wouldn't match either. Arggh, it never ends. I'm good with it though. The little things are Technacraft wing mounts and the shock body is the sample I sent for the color match.
What was annoying is I got two sets of shock collars back so apparently they mixed up Y'ernat Al's parts and mine so he's probably getting my spring perches in his shipment. Brian, thanks for going 50/50 with me on the anno and we'll get this figured out.
Also, doh, the front Associated brace won't mount on atlas's suspension mounts. Oh well, anyone need this thing now that it's annodized gold?
And finally, to complete my rant, the beautiful knockoffs that Brandon sent with the Sees wheels are drilled and tapped for the smaller, stock front axles. These Technacraft unobtainium metal ones are the same size as the rear axles! Arggh.
