I remember as a kid that I had some upgraded the rear axles to titanium. My memory is fuzzy but I think I only had the stub axles and I don't recall who made them. Later I might have gone to a universal joint with dogbone as one piece (like the modern B4 units).

Does anyone recall a brand from the late 80's that sold titanium rear stub axles to fit our old RC10's (and if so I wonder if new old stock ones ever pop up on ebay)?

This is for a shelfer project, not a runner.

Tecnacraft had them, I believe, but there is a reason you don't see titanium used on drivetrain very much—it's relatively brittle. They wore out really fast, and broke often. Not really something you'd want on a race car, and really expensive jewelry for a shelfer. JMHO.

ORC makes ti and aluminum axles, as well as a very nice aluminum cvd bone all in a B3 configuration for dirt oval racing.

I got 3 titanium dog bones not sure about all my rear stub axles lol.The dogbones ends pins are at different angles not like stock steel ones.Don

I know T & A machine used to make titanium dog bones back in the day... Not sure if they ever made axles though.

Yep, I just bought one on ebay that was for sale. Now to find a matching one!

I really thought I had titanium stub axles on the back of my RC10. The memory is foggy but I sort of recall a dilemma about going to universal joint dogbone/axles because of the investment I already had made in these titanium stub axles.

Tecnacraft gold Ti stub axles I have not seen those in a long time!

That rings a bell, might be the very ones.

That's the Tecnacraft ones, I can post a pic if you need, but good luck finding them for a reasonable price
