Did it smell like rotten eggs after that happened.Old school batteries always did YUCK!!!! LOL Don

No smell, just an audible “POP!”. I discounted it as one of the kids with one of those pop things you throw. The other battery is still fine. That battery charged kinda funny and got particularly hot so I thought maybe it was going out.

worst battery event I saw locally was a nice matched 4600 side by side pack. It was bumped on the table and got pressed up against the metal support leg thing on a turbo35 charger. The battery which was just freshly charged arc welded itself to the support and rapidly discharged, leaving a large plume of black soot/dust and molded itself into the composite tabletop.
I only got to see the aftermath once it was done, was not there for the live show
