Cliff Lett "style" Team Car (update 6/17/13)

Post by SofaKing »

Okay so it's not entirely the same as Cliff's car in this RCCA article http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=8970 but I'm still pretty happy to finally have a new built Team Car. I had been collecting parts for awhile and I had everything minus a new nose plate and wide white front arms. Then I scored a complete new built car from the bay. Here she is now after I gave the parts the "treatment" to brighten them up a bit and upgraded a few items.

Upgrades include all new: four hole front shock tower, early spur gear, early gear cover, early matte finish graphite trans brace, robinson titanium top shaft, 6805 rear wheals with Proline traction plus tires and misc. hardware. The car actually had the Tecnacraft turnbuckles and Proline wide fives when I got it... score! :D

I've got all the electrics I want to put in her but couldn't wait to post pics. currently I only have the motor in place (a brand new Reedy Mr. K's).

Thanks,
Dave

Those white parts look great! The whole car appears brand new.

Do you have plans for a body?

Thanks, the whole car actually is brand new and came out real nice and white (although the flash did add to it a bit). As far as a body goes I've got a nip American made Viper that's going on it. Haven't decided on whether or not to paint it though.

Neither, just plain ol' factory anodized

Thanks, if you're talking about the one from blankcheck727 then yes  . Sorry about that but I really wanted it and I think I got it for good price considering it was new built. It arrived in better shape than I expected as well (even before I cleaned it and changed a few items). The seller is actually a real cool guy and found the original box to send with it 8)

No worrries, thats how ebay works. The guy who wants it the most ussually pays for it 8) . I have a few very nice team cars already but I was bidding on that one for the turnbuckles. I'm glad a member ended up with that one though. Have you decided on a body and paint for it yet?

That was one of the big selling points for me as well. As for the body nothing spectacular just an OG Viper, I haven't decided on paint yet.

Are you going to paint a Cliff style painted Mirage for it? Looking good.

Thank you sir, nowhere near as good as the "three amigos" but I'm happy with it (even though it's not finished). As far as painting goes I do have an unpainted Mirage sitting on another car that might get swapped out. Although I think I like the design on one of his earlier cars more than this one. I have the RCCA issue that shows the one I'm talking about, I'll have to scan the pic when I get a chance.
