Went on a trip to the hobby shop to find a body for my clodbuster and saw these sitting on the counter . Yes , I know they wont fit on the clod but they were marked $5 plus an additional 70% off . Being an F1 fan and cheap , I couldnt pass them up at $1.50 each even though I have no idea what they go on . One is marked Associated Wolf F1 , the other Renault and Parma on the 1/10 . Any information about them and the corresponding car they would go with is much appreciated , thanks .
I have an Associated catalog from 1979 that shows the Wolf F1 is part # 2116 L (for Lexan) and the cars that it would fit would be an RC 1A (for Indy Car or F1 body) but probably would also fit an RC 2, RC 100 and RC 200. In other words a very early 1/8 body. There were 1/8 classes for either F1 or Indy style cars in the early years of 1/8th scale racing and then a separate Can Am style body class which later became the only class run.
I don't know anything about the other bodies but I'm sure they are just Parma's version of a body for the same type of car. Great price I might add.
I'm currently visiting my daughter and have never had any luck finding really cool parts out here in Kansas City, Mo so I starting checking in the next state over and found a guy who ran a hobby shop at one time and closed a while back. The...

THATS my car!! Porsche... I have been looking for that body for 6 years. Thats the one I raced from 90-91 under sponsorship from my Dad's company... I couldnt remember that it was PARMA. I got them from the Ranch Pit Shop in Pomona.
This is really a question for Mrlexan and maybe others who dabble in lexan or vacu-forming.
I have a few older out-of-production bodies (from various manufacturers) and I'm wondering if they can be donated to someone interested in remaking them as...

Mr. Lexan,
Have you tried to make a mold from a NIB vintage body for reproductions? If so, what material do you recommend using? I have two other related questions. Did you build your own vaccuform or do you have an industrial machine? And Lastly,...
Been doing a lot of searching up and down the net for 12th scale bodies for my 12e rebuild and coming up with very few choices but one thing I noticed was modern bodies (GTP in particular) appear to be very low slung bodies to fit the modern pan...

That sounds like a lot of work for one interested person :| pity there is not more interest in this shape.
Are 1/8 scale shock too big for a 1/10 scale buggy?
Has anyone done this? Or has a 1/8 shocks to test on a RC10 or other?
Let me know what you know.
Thanks you.

Well, my thought are more along the lines of putting 1/8 scale buggy shock on something like an RC10Truck. Some of these 1/8 shock are more or less the same length as rear 1/10 and If I make a solid aluminum chassis for a truck it might get heavy...
Dangerous thing, but I got to thinking today while browsing eBay. Has anyone tried fitting current 10th scale big bore springs to older 8th scale shocks...? I know most were a 13mm inner bore but I wonder if the spring diameters would be close...
I have a really stupid question. I've searched the internet and came up with nothing. Probably because I myself don't even know how to ask what I want to ask.
Is there a formula or something used when figuring dimensions on a resized part ?
I...

if you want to use 1/8 standard wheels then you will want to use a standard 1/8th hex drive ( don't know what that is ) not the Tamiya style drive flange
I believe the answer to that question would be either 14mm hex or 17mm, with 17mm being far...
I bought myself a HPI Blitz and I can't believe how big it is..next to a normal 1/10 buggy the thing is huge..looks more like 1/8 scale..where will it end

Yeah I see your point I was just surprised when it arrived..I have an RC10T and that is not much bigger than the RC10 so i was expecting something similar...
Came across this picture while searching for carbon fiber sheets. It just does not look full size but it is. Thought it be a cool design for an r/c car. Look at the size of those shocks. The shocks and the rims combined with the flat black plastic...
