Gold pan gear cover help

I read on this board on an older thread that the B2 gear cover worked on the gold pan chassis cars so I ordered two from Tower Hobbies. I think the information said one hold didn't line up requiring you to drill an extra in the motor plate, or just run it with one screw. Well I got the covers and I can't really see how they are going to fit without significant trimming over the plastic cover. It seems to not line up with the corner of the motor plate near the transmission output drives.

Is there another alternative? Can I just buy the original one somewhere? I also like the newer ones with the circle plug for quick access to the slipper which would be nice.

That reminds me, I need a gear cover for my T3 rebuild.

I have a T3 plate here, which is the same as the B2, and I just held it up to a Stealth plate. Try screwing in the top hole, and then rotate the gear cover counterclockwise so the hole lines up with the topshaft of the tranny. The bottom hole might not line up, but the top screw should hold well enough. You can use a piece of tape to strap it to the motor plate for a little more security.

I have a B4/T4/SC10 gear cover here, and it's the same thing; the top screw lines up and you rotate it a bit to match the topshaft. You can drill a hole very, very close to the edge, but I wouldn't even bother with it. There is a thread about it on here somewhere, I think by m-vice.

You can find several aftermarket Lexan gear covers that bolt right to the original motor plate on eBay.

crap, yes, that's the thread. My reading comprehension fails. I apparently needed the B4 cover not the B2.

So yes, I confirmed (doh!) the B2 cover won't work.
