Put new belts in my XX4, sounds kinda odd

Hi all. Last weekend I found that my front belt was totally shredded, and the mid belt and rear belt weren't too much better. So I ordered some new green belts from LPH and finally got them in the car today. Thing is it sounds kinda nasty, now I know my old belts were worn and probably not real tight (they looked to be original black belts), and its been a couple years since I drove the car (I need saddles), and it didn't sound like this. There wasn't any binding in the drive train that I could tell and I got the gear mesh right, I made sure all the rollers were rolling. Do these things gotta wear in?
Here is a short vid:

I only hads the World Edition,
When belts were so do the drive pulleys. You really should replace the pulleys as well. Like pinions and spur gears. Spur gears wear as well.
As for the belt rollers the new updated green belt needs no rollers. Set the belt to be on the loosest setting. Mine was so tight from new i had to run it on grass for at least 5 packs and still was tight.
I will try the belt with no rollers first than if still sounds bad replace the pulleys
Oh i just watched you vid there is somthing really wrong as in slippage. Check your Motor mesh, Slipper and your belts.
Mark.

Sounds like the spur gear/pinion gear mesh is too tight. Check backlash and try again. Also, take the belt tensioner roller out completely.

Yeah I checked the gear mesh three times cause that's what it sounded like to me too, but that's not it. Should I take all the rollers out? Cause there are like four of them. Wish I'd known before I put it back together.

OK, took all the rollers out, now when I let off the throttle you can see/hear the front clicker one way operating (which it wasn't before), so there is less binding in the front for sure. Gear mesh is right, still sounds like it did before, just not as bad I guess. I don't have the rear diff adjuster blocks cause I bought the car used and didn't get them. I believe it has the "B" blocks in there right now.

since you only have B blocks, which way is the arrow on them? pointing forward is the looser of the 2 settings.

Yeah its pointing forward, I need to get off my duff and order some new blocks, $$ is getting tight though, and I'm not going to order just blocks. lol

How well did you check the pulleys for belt debris? I shedded a set of red belts in the car, cleaned everything, reassembled with new green belts, and had a similar sound. Disassembled the car again, and found belt debris in the pulleys. I am very meticulous about my cars, and for the life of me I can't figure out where the belt debris was hiding, but somehow it made its way back into the pulleys after a thorough cleaning of all the parts. -Jeff

I got them pretty clean, I cleaned the chassis and everything else up also. I wasn't aware of the need to replace them when you do the belts. However, I was going to buy new pulleys and diff gears an replaced them while I was back in there again.

Just as an update, as it turns out the pinion gear was messed up and causing the noise, I put a new one on it and the noise went away, thanks for the help guys!
