Kyosho Triumph Pro
I have a swedish friend who raced for Team Kyosho in the early/mid 90's.
He's got a pre-production car in a brown box with instructions only on japanese.
It looks very familiar with the Pro-X, but all white plastic parts appearing on the Pro-X is on this Triumph Pro black except for front / rear hubs.
Does anyone know more about this car?

That looks really cool! Prototype stuff is always wild. Can you get more detailed pictures of it? Thanks for sharing!

No, I will not help you with your dorky short course truck…sorry, it’s against my religion. If it's not a 1/10 scale buggy...I don't care.

Nah, it's no Pro-X. It's a pre Pro-X. Triumph Pro.
Pics and a scan of the manual. I will try to get him to scan the whole manual to see what difference it is between the Pro-X and this.

Re: Kyosho Triumph Pro
I gotta tell ya, it's very very similar to my Pro-X. Do a Google-Images search to see what I mean. Still, the Triumph Pro sticker is very very cool! It makes me wonder why they went away from the Triumph name and called it a Pro-X.....? Maybe since there was so little similar between the 2 cars.... Anyone with ideas?

Re: Kyosho Triumph Pro
Well, as my friend told me;
He was a team driver for Kyosho back in the days. One day he recieved a box containing this car. Mostly handwritten manual.
1 of 50 ever made.
I wanna know if anyone else ever saw / owned one of these.

Re: Kyosho Triumph Pro
It looks to be a pre-production Pro X, that Kyosho had planned on calling the Truimph Pro. It was changed to the Pro X and relesed to the public with white parts. I am sure it is rare though and a great conversation piece as it has many parts that were molded in black. I doubt that you will ever see these again. Your friend doesn't have any other goodies lying around he may want to get rid of does he?

Re: Kyosho Triumph Pro
I saw one of the team drivers throw his into a pond as it was rubbish, still his was one of the very first few ever released and his was white with exception of the chassis, but this is a PRO-X as the triumph was released years before this. Maybe it was planned to be called that but as we all know prototypes don't always keep their names and thats why this ended up as a PRO-X. Nice car never the less and glad to see that they figured out how to fix the rubbish gearbox from melting.
