it's a good possibility i raced against that car back in the day, going by the seller's location. there were alot of guys running the raborn "where the hell am i gonna put my batteries" chassis around here. myself included.

hpi's.

through the early/mid 90's, i raced damn near everywhere within a 2 hr radius of my house. most of the tracks aren't even around anymore.

i kinda remember awhile back you mentioning you used to race at tri-oval speedway in p-burg, nj many years ago with your dad. we probably raced against each other a time or two.

Tri Oval Speedway!!!! What a blast that place was!! Every weekend!!! My name is Jake, and my dad was Paul. We looked like Earnhardt Sr, and Jr. Haha We also raced upstairs at Trains and Lanes, on the carpet before they banked it.

Remember Bill Bauer? He was one of the only guy's running a JRX2...use to clean house with that car. I remeber him going like 5 or 6 laps down at tri oval and coming back to win the A-Main!! He races a stock car at New Eygpt speedway now.

I see Jim Young from time to time at the p-burg mall when they have the dirt cars there. He's a photographer.

that name doesn't, but i only ran there a couple times. if i remember right, their race day/night conflicted with another track i went to. so i only went to tri-oval during an off week.

jim young i remember. he's the one that talked me into racing up in hackettstown, nj. i went up there two weeks in a row and cleaned house. the local hot shoe up there was all pissed of because some 15 year old kid showed up one day and crushed his long standing track record. :P

jim was also the one (if i remember right) that got the ball rolling to race r/c's at the lehigh valley cycling velodrome. that was fun.

Yeah it was HUGE!!! If my memory serves me correctly, the only way to hook up was with Schumacher Cat front tires all the way around. Had to use Hot Trick or Yokomo adapters, and Yokomo wheels?

One of these days

I want to know who the heck decided that the Shuey spikes would hook on that surface?

Trial and error I think? It really was the only set up to use. Hard to get the parts, and expensive. Your Rayborn cjhassis needs a glass case!

those cat tires were pretty much the only schumacher parts that were stocked in hobby shops around here. and it was only in the winter months. the one nice thing about those cat tires, they came in different compounds. i can't think of any other rubber tires that were like that back in the day.
