Looking for a decent battery for bashing my vintage buggy. I have an 8T motor in it right now but it sucks in the buggy.

So I might go with a 17T but in the mean time I need a good battery

also should I consider going to a 7cell?

If you have the charging capabilities you may want to consider going with a LiPo. I run the Reedy 5000mah batteries and my son uses the Peak 5400mah packs. I've heard good things about the Tunder Power packs too.

I second the switch to LiPo.

Bashing is all about long run times, and LiPos really bring it.

I've been running the Venom 3300 nihms with a 13.5 brushless and have been getting 10-12 minute runs. I run nihms because there is often alcohol involved before, during and after the bashing and I'm scared that running lipo batteries would lead to explosions.

I just picked up some Duratrax Onyx NiMH cells, 3000s. I'll let you know how they run.

since I got back into the hobby not quite a year ago I've been beating on a couple cheapbatterypacks.com 5000mah Elite NiMH 4 cell packs on a 13T double Reedy mod motor (keep in mind, this is an on-road car) and on a bad day I will only get just shy of a half hour run time. :)

I have been very happy with a couple six-cell packs of Intellect IB-4200mAh cells that I got for around $35 each - great punch, long run times...
