My Break From Work and Life

I needed to get away from the daily mess, so went to Birmingham for the first IZOD race at Barber. It's been 4 years since I have been to a race (can't believe it's been that long already) and this was my first time in 10 years I went to a race without Media Credentials. Miss that too. It was good to hear some rpms, it's been to long.

Awesome pics! I just finished watching that (recorded) since I had to work today. Any chance of getting some of those IRL pics for hi-res widescreen desktop pics? 1920x1200 would be the minimum.

Any photos of that beautiful pseudo-Lotus of Takuma Sato?

 great pics!
You get sharper shots of a car doing 150mph from 100yds than I manage get of my kids from a few feet away

Thanks for the complements guys.

Here are two Doug. I have some others, but they didn't turn out totally sharp. The problem, there were only about four spots around the track where I could get an un-obstructed view of the track. There is way too much fencing (everyone's afraid of liability these days). That and the time of day, thus the light or placement of the sun made it a bit of challenge. Cars covered in shadow on a bright day are difficult to obtain clarity/sharpness. I thought things did turn out pretty good considering. Still would have liked to been between the fences with credentials.

Very cool!

I watched the end of the Rolex series on SPEED. Looked like a great event and even better weather!

Very nice pics here; I am with some of the others who can hardly manage a clear shot of the kitchen table, much less a 150mph race car... :?

I don't want to hijack this post, but:
((Any Moto-GP fans here? Valentino Rossi is off to another impressive year with his win in Qatar today! And how about Nicky Hayden riding up front!))
