Re: New shocks released by ae!
I have the caps already also. I never really had any promblems with the old style shocks but after reading some other forums I guess some people did. These look nice not sure if I will switch on my T4 or SC10. But I also heard they will be coming on the new FT SC10

Re: New shocks released by ae!
We used to use the Yokomo caps with one bleeder hole. It's a really easy way to build smooth shock
I didn't realize that they were out for a bit, It normally takes new parts 15yrs to age before I look for them

Those shock caps have been out for about a year and out of stock to the public for almost as long. They just came back in stock on Amain about 2 weeks ago.

Re: New shocks released by ae!
And I JUST bought an SC10 LOL (arrived Monday, it's a roller except for the shocks as of last night). Fortunately it looks like it's going to be a lot more expensive than I would be willing to spend. $50 more and maybe, but Tower is listing the pre-sale price at over $300. Of course it's coming with a LOT more goodies than the old Factory Team kits used to come with, so the price is justified I'm sure, but not worth it for the Backyard GP.

Re: New shocks released by ae!
I think the bleeder caps have existed under one form or another for ages (Was already running them on my TC3 years ago, can't remember if they were yokomo's or self-drilled ones).
The bottom cartdridge is what matters, I'd say. Quite a revolution for AE tbh... and will be much much much easier to rebuild

Re: New shocks released by ae!
Associated shocks are teh suck and have been since 1983. I have Kyosho Velvets on my FTB4 and Losis on my Atomic S2, and they are infinitely better shocks. The new bottom cartridge assembly is 20 years behind where they should have been already. Every high end shock on the 1/10th buggy market uses top and bottom caps with serviceable bottom cartridges. It's about freakin' time they updated their 30-year old shock technology.
I still have to say, I'm looking forward to the FTSC10.

I wonder if the new shocks are going to let the springs rub the body as well as the older ones do?
Best thing you can do for an RC10 is put Losi shock on them.

Hell, I bought a FTRC10B4 about a year ago and was amazed at the poor anodizing quality of all of the shocks. Looked like they were raw aluminum with some light anodized mottling on em. AE had me send in the shock bodies so they could "investigate" and they sent back all new bodies that didn't look a whole lot better. Some things just don't need to be done in China.

Oh, and why did AE ever stop coating the shock shafts in unobtanium? (probably cause it never wore out)
Rant over.
