This is a JRX-2 I bought new back in the eighties - I raced it up until 1989 (or maybe 1990), then threw it in the closet... until the R/C virus flared-up again in 2002.

I rebuilt the shocks and transmission at that time, otherwise, this is the exact set-up I raced with in the eighties.

Please enjoy some pictures:

Actually, the motor is not period correct, it is just the shell of a later model (1990's) Trinity stock motor with most of the end bell disassembled.

Would've looked more like this, as new:

Yes, this is real, 20 year-old patina, not the re-created "faux-tina" that they paint on the "Trucks!" show on Spike TV... ((To be honest, I really enjoy the Powerblock on Spike TV.)) :D

My plans for this buggy include a good ground-up cleaning, newer electronics, and plenty of gentle run time out in the front yard... I don't want to alter the basic rolling chassis, since it was my old racer.

Sounds like your putting the old girl out to pasture... LOL

Oh man!!! I bought a JRX2 brand new too! They were on close out, and going cheap. I use to race dirt oval with an rc10 and that pink Monster Horsepower was the house motor. Cool car, looks clean!!
