6010 Restro

Here is my completed 6010. I bought a very nice car that had been run for what looked like one pack and then put away for 20 years or so. It had the normal 'stored' RC10 issues - perished Tyres, leaked shocks on the wishbones which made them yellow and unfortunately some nasty marks on the chassis where the batteries had leaked.

I fitted up a B chassis which I bought from a fellow forum member, a new protech (the paint job was NOT good) :D and some hornet rear tyres (don't beat me up, they look better than what was on it!!!) and she was ready to go. The wishbones cleaned up nice in some Simple Green and Bleach.

enjoy :)

p.s. if you are wondering what the marks are on the front nose plate, they are not scratches but rather it appears the anodisation didn't stick under th e embossed "AE"

Very nice  Perhaps you can think about buying a 4.5 wing and a second battery cup.

I do have the other battery cup.. its just that because it runs a B chassis I took advantage of the centred front battery mount! I do think they look better that way, just not so original.

looks good. :)

i have a gold tub also that looks like the battery was over-charged while it was in the car. then the acid ran through the holes in the chassis, and screwed up the anodizing on the bottom, too.

Ouch.. not good. Luckily my bottom survived, but inside was a real mess :(

Thinking of powder coating it shocking pink though! :D

yup, it screwed up. it's not real bad, but it there. thankfully, the battery cups cover up the inside. as long as the battery goes across the chassis.

Tom stacey, you did a great job on your resto. I like the hornet tires. I have a pair of CRP dynamites for the RC-10 that look very similar.
