Hello everybody

Post by DV8ion »

I would just like to say "Hi" to everyone, I joined not too long ago after I was told about this board by another member (Superfly) who will be joining us at our local track for some "Vintage racing" this season.

So I pulled all my old stuff out of storage and ended up having enough stuff to build 3 cars (old Gold tub, Black tub team car and a Red chassis Team car). The old Goldie is going to be a queen after I give it a good cleaning, the black Team car I would like to do a Tekin Chassis swap (where are you guys finding these chassis at??? LOL ) and old Red is going to be my race car for this season. I have a soft spot for old RC10's any shape, color or condition :D :D

I do have a question.....I came across a set of Mint in package Tecnacraft Ti turnbuckles and hinge pins, would it be crazy of me to tear these open and slap them on my race car???? Or save them for something special.
Thanks all,
-Josh

welcome to the board. :)

i'd pick up some lunsford tie rods to put on the race car, and save the tecnacrafts for a shelfer. but that's just me.

Send the Technacrafts to me, I'll buy you a full set of Lundsfords. :D In other words, NO, don't put them on a car you plan to use. They're strong, but not industructible and Technacraft is long out of business and anything they made is very collectible and not replaceable now.

Tekin used to have the RC10 chassis on their website, not sure if they still do or not, I haven't been there in a long time.

Welcome to the board. 8)

Thanks for the welcome guys. :D I guess I might just clean up the old stock tierods and just run those then. Yeah I wouldn't mind getting my hands on one of those Tekin Chassis, I checked their site but had no luck.

:D DV8ion...good to see you on here. Welcome aboard!!! I just test drove my first gold-tub rc10 today...I can hardly wait to run it at Sid's. For those who want to see the track right near my house its: http://www.sidsraceway.com

I had a blast today running the old gold for the first time...it has a reedy quad 19T and a cyclone esc and I'm gearing it with a 12/54...the acceleration is crazy and it can do donuts on dry pavement like nobodys business. I think i'll have to slow things down at the track or I'll be all over the place....I'll be there for the first race april 29th and I'll have my T4 and my rc10s there for sure.

and yes that is the tekin in the box still...just getting geared up to put one together...I'm dying to try it out with the mid engine setup...cheers Dave

I have some pics of when I first started my projects.

And the old CE (not the best shot) which is in pretty darn great shape, not a scratch anywhere just some surface rust from sitting in the basement.
