Newbie here. Seems like this is the right forum for old Yokes. I'm picking up this beauty tomorrow. It's my first ever Yoke buggy. It does look like the rear tower is broken and the rear shock ends and wing are not original. But other than that it looks rather cool. What do you guys think? I'll update this thread with my own pics when I pick it up.

Very nice buggy.Running 7 cells would be a fast one.Thoses rear Losi tyres look like new.Im sure there are some Losi gurus on here that would love to get their mits on those.Mrlexan does a new body and undertry set for these too should you want to give it a face lift.

I have a feeling this will be one of those "great" deals after the seller mentioned he has "some" spare wheels and tires for the 870c, "some" NIP and used parts, "some" technigolds (one is NIB), "some" (2 and 1/2) Delta pan cars and a Fox buggy with "some" upgrades. I can't wait!!!

Nice score! Hopefully it cleans up well for you. Mr Lexan shells are top notch. You can find the wings on Tower Hobies and most screws/nuts/washers you can find at a local hobbyshop.

Clean that up and more pics!

sounds like your some good gear, the shocks are upside down which im sure you've noticed.

The 870C is in good overall condition.





But I will need a new front bulkhead, in order to run it hard.



Few parts that came with it:

I'm now in the process of rebuilding this one. I just disassembled the chassis and do have a couple questions.

1. Some of the suspension hinge pins are bent. I managed to force the others out (damaged some ends in the process) but one in the front is still there and i might need to somehow cut the pin in the middle. I had a look on ebay for hinge pins but nothing is available at the moment. Are there any alternatives to the OG part? Would Tamiya M03/TL01/TA03 hinge pins work?

2. I also need to replace some bearings. Where can I get the upright bearings (flanged)?

3. Has anybody tried to fit a 2s lipo in a 870C? Any suggestions of a lipo tray?

Really cool car, it is very much in its original juice.

Hinge pins, unless you find some originals, it is rather easy to make some yourself. K&S offer a rather wide range of music wires. Dremel is your friend. Some old shock shafts work too.

Bearings, go to avidrc.com. you should find what you need. Pro (normal) service and fast shipping.

Can't help you for the Lipo's...

1. I would guess its the front of the pins that bent right?
if so remove bulkhead and hit from the rear so it comes out the front. A bench vice and some cloth stops vice marks. I used a drill bit slightly smaller and cut the solid end off to use as a punch with some plusgas (penetrating oil) squirted on it, small sharp hits but not too hard. take your time and it will be ok.
I happen to have 3 used (but straight) pins here if need some for the price of postage from uk to you LMK .
2. bearings, i forget where i last got them but it was off ebay. measure the 3 sizes and search those sizes flanged bearing on ebay, (might of been 5x10x4 not sure)
3. Not sure about this one but in my racing days we used to chain drill slots for battery tape to hold cells in place
