Have been away from AE for a while, but I have been thinking about getting a Gold Pan project started. I am just curious as to what the difference between all the different stampings of the Gold Pan chassis, and is there a particular one to have?

well that depends on the build or if your going to run it or shelf if the best way round this dilemma is to get one of each

The A stamp is the earliest, with the B&C stamps later in sequence, But there are quite a few differences between each chassis, and quite a few variances with each stamped chassis. None are
more desirable--only rarer

If I remember correctly, solely based on the fact I've owned every version of the RC10 since I started racing (except the TQ10 and graphite RC10 6 gear wide arm version):

A Stamp - Original RC10
B Stamp - RC10 w/ wide arms, 6 gear tranny (earlier "championship edition" RC10's)
C Stamp - Championship Edition RC10 w/ Wide arms and stealth transmission.

it doesn't really matter what stamp it has. what matters is.... do you want a gold tub with short front arms, long front arms, 6 gear, stealth?

Ah, ok cool, thanks guys. So I would be looking for an A stamp. Back in the day when I got my JRX2, the RC10 was of course my rival at my local track. While I have been mostly a Losi guy (most of my fleet is Losi, but I have an SC8 in the mix), I love all RC, and now that I have almost finished restoring my original JRX2 (just got my repro shell from mrlexan, just needs paint), I was thinking of finding a first gen (A stamp I guess) and adding it to the fleet. I am looking for short arms and 6 gear tranny. It doesn't have to be perfect, in fact I would prefer that it wasn't, because I would like to use it as a runner. Would be a shame to scuff up an un-run chassis.

Is that the plane you fly?

I haven't seen a twin otter in years. A commuter use to have them down here and when they left that was the last I saw of them.

Anyway I'm working on an A but I think it came from the second address. I replaced all the wide arms from a truck conversion back to the stock narrow arms. I can't find one of the front tire and wheels. It's the 6010 kit and the tires have Team Associated on them. This old stuff goes for some big bucks on Ebay used!

The stamps are as follows:

No Stamp ( light gold) Very first gen
A Stamp (gold) 2nd gen
AB Stamp (gold) 2nd gen with Stealth holes added
B Stamp (black or gold) 3rd gen with Stealth holes
C Stamp (black) Worlds Light weight chassis (milled)

Just to add, the C was also in gold and black unmilled.

Unmilled? To me that would mean a block of aluminum!!

I have found a decent condition short arm, 6 gear, chassis on another forum that I think I will pick up. It needs some cleaning, some wheels/tires, and a body/wing. I think I will pick it up and add it to my winter projects. Gotta keep busy during these cold dark winter months.

Cool, like the cross wind landing. I'm furloughed from Midwest airlines, flew B717
and MD80's. I'm now fliying air ambulance in light twins and a trubo-props. This looks like fun flying!

These chassis are stamped. The worlds black chassis is stamped like the rest and then has sections milled out of them for weight savings.
