Double Trouble TRX-1's

I must say I am extremely happy with these. Joel and I came to an equitable agreement and I got these from him today. I will admit that I spent about an hour doing some quick cleanup to see how they looked under the grime. One of these cars is very, very nice and only needs to have the hardware replaced to be near perfect. Even the rims are very clean of road rash. The other car is quite nice as well but a little more used. It will take a bit more effort to be beautiful but it does have the aluminum shock tower (aftermarket?) and the aluminum rims going for it. I also already have a new rear carrier to replace the broken one. The body isn't bad either. The melty-squished look is not my favorite but one of these cars will wear it proudly. See anything strange about the front a arms on the second car? :D

Nice! Traxxas still has the decals/screw kit and hing pins. The hardest thing to find are turnbuckles, luckily I scored on e-bay

If you need anything Scamp let me know as I have a box full of NIP parts

Sweet! Thanks for the information. I know I'm going to need a front body mount and a bumper. Other than that it's just screws and hardware, at least until I tear them down and thoroughly examine them.

Thanks guys. The body is a bit of a painful thing isn't it? It reminds me a bit of some of the bizzarre stuff the Tamiya turned out. Still I understand they are hard to come by so I'll probably keep it on one of the cars. The reason I need a pair of a arms is that the ones on the second car are actually RC10 wide arms. I had to check a couple of times because they blend in beautifully with the rest of the front suspension.

pretty sure you can buy traxxas turnbuckles from tower in pairs in various lengths.

the gold tower is a bullet tower, factory traxxas standard for that car, and a couple others.

if you run these cars, consider finding fiberglass (or the bullet one is fine too) replacements, the carbon ones are pretty fragile, and very hard to find in good condition.

nice aluminum wheels!

i have some left over parts too from my build, which isnt built yet lol. i have some new front arms i didnt use, they were mounted but i went with black parts instead.

i always hated white parts. i hated them when they were new back in the day, and i dont like them now, and hate that they bring a uber premium, but its understandable lol.

ill take some pics if ya need, maybe we can work a trade if i find anything i need here for the car.

Thanks guys for the comments and tips. Mike I very well may be contacting you about those white parts, thanks! Wife said I have to let the wallet stop smoking for a week or so. :) I had Monday off of work so I spent some quality time with the tougher of these two cars, partially because I wanted to see how bad it was and partly because I wanted to polish those rims! The teardown didn't bring any bad surprises thankfully. The gearbox was in pristine condition internally! I scrubbed the grime off of everything, polished the rims and since the motor plate and (bullet) rear shock tower were pretty banged up I opted to de-anodize and polish them. (I really liked the look of yours Mike.) The tower is still unpolished. The chassis turned out to be pretty nice too with minimal scratches. The other car will remain bone stock. Both builds are at a stand still until I get the proper hardware and turnbuckles (thanks for the tip!) Besides, my hands are sore! Here's a few pics of the current state:

Thanks Rick. Last night I polished the body while was watching tv. You can see through the windows now! It's still ugly though. :?

Not sure yet. I'm looking at Mr Lex's TRX-1 on the bay and wondering if I shouldn't flip one of these...nah, not right now anyway. I had to fight the urge to dye the white parts especially after seeing a couple with wild colors. You never know what could happen! I'll definitely keep the stock body on one of them. It needs a bit of work but all in all it's not in too bad of shape.
