I'm rebuilding/restoring a Goldtub RC10 and was wondering what to do about the shocks. My original gold shocks aren't beat up but the gold has different shades. They're not all identical. I was curious if the hard annodized shocks they came out with are worth buying and how they would look. Are the originals worth rebuilding. What is a good all around weight of oil to use in the shocks? Any thoughts or pics of the hard annodized on the goldtubs?
Hey guys, just picked up some hard anodized shocks on ebay.....they are .89 front shocks, plastic cap.....they are really gray, and not the olive-ish color that most hard anodized shocks are....

Did associated ever make a .71 shock in blue anodized. I would like to know so that if they didn't I wont waste my time hunting for them.

If you are wanting street tires, you can always convert to modern size 2.2 wheels. Then you could use Duratrax Banditos or Traxxas Anacondas.

I use a lye and water solution to strip anodising. Works way better than oven cleaner.
