Any tips/advice for inserting the universal pivot into the rear axle? The manual says to use a pair of pliers to get the pin through the hole, I just keep mucking mine up. Do I need to just have another bowl of wheaties?
I apologize in advance for the newb question and I appreciate any and all advice you can give me, outside of pick a new hobby

If you use the OE turnbuckle adjuster to push/pry, it works pretty good.

I find that getting the pin started with pliers, then "gently tapping" with a hammer gets the pin through - its an acquired skill to be sure!
You could also try heating up the ball with a flame from a cigarette lighter to get it to expand the "ball" a bit to make the job easier too - Ihave dont this - but only on really stubborn pins.

Early versions of the pins were directional. One side was just a little smaller than the other...not sure if this was by design or just something that happened in the manfacturing process.
Anyhow, the easiest way would be to insert the pin directly in to the ball about half way (without the axle). By doing this, you increase the hole slightly (in the ball) and taper the pin. Do this a few times then try it with the ball in the axle...it should be much easier then.
