Need to start thinking about the vintage on-roads and I only own one chassis that will qualify. It's in pretty good condition all things considered, but it's an oval chassis. With a light weight lipo and extra weight to offset it make it run o.k. on a road course; or should I just start from the ground up? Actually, now that I think about it I have a graphite chassis, but the front end is beat to hell. Anyway, here's a pic of the chassis I have. Let me know what you think. I've only raced oval(and it's been a long time since I've done that)so I don't know what works and what doesn't. I will change shock towers of course, but basically this is it. Any input is welcome. Thanks

it's an offset chassis, but you have the battery centered in the chassis. so, i don't see any real issue with using it.

Man, I'm an idiot! You're right. I forgot to mention that I plan on switching to a 6 gear tranny and going with the mid-motor mounting the way the chassis was intended to be used. Actually, was it? I'll have to take some measurements. I've had the chassis set up this way for so long I can't even remember.

The track doesn't know what kind of chassis you are using...

From a philosophical standpoint I understand where you're coming from, but I'm still curious to know if it will work o.k. from a driver's standpoint. A bad driver at that...

Would switching it back to mid-motor mount be better or should I just leave it the way it is? Seriously, with my driving it won't make much difference, but I'd still like to go in with the proper set-up for a road course. Also, as it stands it has a stealth. I'd like to run a six gear whether rear or mid-motor mount. Would that be a bad decision?

Absolutely switch it to mid motor configuration. -Fewer wheelies. -Jeff

i don't think you have enough battery room on that chassis to run it mid-motor, but you could try it. and i would leave the stealth in it.

curiosity is getting to me on this one. Why would you want to do this vs. the stealth? Just wondering is all...

MONSTER?? No need to drag him into this. Just because it's what the chassis was originally designed for. The battery fits on the left with either. I'm sure I'd stick with the Stealth.

I'd just run it the way it is, get some foam or dual sport tires and call it done.

I'm still torn. It sorta depends on how the case I have cleans up. I'm definitely going mid-motor though. Seems appropriate. Pansy? C'mon you can do better than that! Oh yeah, I forgot. You're on double-secret probation with the mods already. Before I hit submit, I can tell I already F'd up the quotes. Apparently the region of my brain that's used to properly delete quotes was screwed up back in the 60's.
