Hi guys, can I use the GT Diff Rebuilt Kit No. 7677 for the original gold tub Stealth? Does the diff rings fit the original idler gear No. 6580? Any advise is very much appreciated! Thank you.

No, the diff rings are different. The GT trans is 2.60:1 and the original stealth is 2.25:1 The diff rings on the original stealth are a smaller diameter. the other parts will work though, the thrust bearing, balls, Tnut, spring, cross bolt.

these are the diff rings you need:

and the rest of the parts:

here is what i reccomend for an original 2.25 tranny either rc-10 or rc-10t. there is a whole associated kit still available that most people dont know about. the kit is actually for a tc3 touring car but all of the diff parts even the rings are the same. most hobby shops even stock them since they are for a tc3. the part # is 3926 it comes with every thing needed for a rebuild except 12 diff balls. here is a tower link so you can check it out:

i alwas keep a spare in my tool box when i go to the track even got the parts guy to stock them for the other racers. that should be a big help to you as well as the rest of you guys that need them.

This is a fantastic kit and cheaper than buying everything separately. I always have a few spares too.

i just wish that associated would sell a kit that included the d-rings that some tc3's use as well. i have aluminum outdrives that are notched for d-rings in my oval rides and that would be a great help.

i saw thoes but they dont have the t-nut since the tc3's plastic outdrives have the nut moulded in. they would still work but i would just have to stock up on t-nuts in order to use them with standard outdrives
