I was reading the hotshot manual and was trying to figure out the type of ball bearing it needs. But there was no measurement in the manual.
Can someone tell me the type (size) and number of ball bearing in a hotshot?
Thnak you.

the hot shot comes with some ball bearings. to replace the plastic 5x11 bushings and the 5x8 metal bushings you will need.
13- 5x11 ball bearings
5- 5x8 ball bearings

Do you mean the re-release? The original did not have any bearings.
Off the top of my head:
5x11: 8 axle bearings, 2 center shaft, 4 outdrive bearings, 3 gears===> 17 total
5x8: 2 center shaft, 3 gears===> 5 total
Plus you can put an extra 5x11 bearing on each of the outdrives so they don't flop around as much.
Good luck!

May I ask where to put that extra 5 X 11 on the outdrives to reduce the flop??

Put it on the outside of the gearbox, so there's two bearings on the drive cup shaft-- it will be snug but you should be able to get the c-clip on inside the gearbox.
FYI right now there's a seller on ebay with 100 5x11 bearings for $40 shipped and 20 5x8 for $10.90. I may be hitting those up too.

If you can't find them, shoot me a PM. I also just noticed you can mix and match bearing sizes on the 100 unit lot-- good deal if the seller communicates well. Good luck!

Are we supposed to add this extra bearings to the both the front and rear end? That will be 4 extra and the car would have close to 30 ball bearings!!!!

Yes, that's 4 more. That's why I buy 100 of them at a time... for $40. You can replace them as needed without going broke. Tamiya used 5x11 and 5x8 in almost all their 1980s releases (at least the ones that I have owned) and Traxxas did/does as well.
Do what you're comfortable with and good luck!
